How does the custom design process work?
Step 1: Contact Me
If you have a design need or are just curious about the process, pricing, etc., ping me via the "Contact" page or DM me on Instagram @mehanmcguire. I'll get back to you within a couple days. If you are interested in filling a design need, I'll set up a consultation.
Step 2: Consultation
This is where we will take time to talk through your potential design needs and get to know each other (in-person or virtually). Getting to know you allows me to better create an art piece that speaks to you.
Common things we will chat about include style preferences, meaningful elements, and logistics.
Consultations are 100% free, and typically last ~30-45 min.
Step 3: Digital Rendering [murals only]
I'll create a personalized proof-of-concept mural design based on the things we covered in our consultation. You'll receive a digital rendering so you can visualize how the mural will look in the space. In this stage, we can work together to iterate on the design until your vision is brought to life.
It normally takes ~2 weeks from the time of the consultation to receive a rendering.
First two renderings are free, additional are $100/each
Step 4: Design Finalization & Invoice
Once we've finalized a mural design, you'll receive an invoice of the price break down and we'll confirm a timeline/completion date. To lock in the mural, half the project cost will need to be paid upfront. The other half is due once the project is complete and we're happy with the result! For design needs other than murals, I will send an invoice after the consultation.
Step 5: Project Completion
Project is complete when you're in love with the result!

What is the typical cost of murals?
Pricing varies from project to project, ranging anywhere from $500 to $5000+. I calculate each piece based on hourly rate (design + paint), materials, and travel. All itemized costs are transparent and listed in the invoice, and we will work together to ensure that the price meets your budget.
I already have a design in mind for a mural. Can you paint it?
Yes. If you want me to replicate an existing design or logo on your walls, I can do it.
